Start your day with a morning routine

If you feel like your morning is rushed, chaotic, or disorganized then keep reading! If your morning isn't setting you up for success you are missing out on a huge opportunity.

Morning routines are one of the best ways to get your day started right. Having a morning routine can keep you on track, improve your productivity, and improve your ability to reach your goals.

Mornings that start with chaos and disorganization set your day up to follow the same pattern. Once you start this spiral it can be hard to stop.

Below are some of the ways you can get started with a morning routine that works for you!

What you can do to set up a morning routine

Figure out what works for you. How much time do you have in the morning? What do you want out of your morning routine? What kind of things would you like to improve on? These are all questions you should think about when developing your routine.

First off we suggest getting up 2-3 hours before your first work related activity. We know, this seems very early but it will be worth it. Getting up this early will allow you to get your body going and get your mind clear and set before starting work. This will also allow you plenty of time to get your morning routine in.

We usually start by having people lay out what their current morning looks like. What order do you prefer to do things? We can use this as a foundation for your routine.

Tip:

Start with a shorter routine and work up to a larger one. If you make it manageable then it will be successful.

Elements to include in your routine:

  1. Hydration: Drink a glass of water to replace the water you lost while sleeping.

  2. Movement: Get some sort of active movement in. That could be walking or some sort of light exercise in your house.

  3. Journaling: Write down some goals for your day to use as your guide. You could also write some gratitude and positive affirmations to get your day going on a positive note.

  4. Mobility: Get in some type of stretching and mobility work. Likely you will be sitting most of your day so this is your time to get your body loosened up.

  5. Fuel: Make sure to nourish your body with a protein source.

Now it's time to act. Use these elements to build your morning routine to start improving your daily productivity. If you have any questions on building a morning routine reach out in the questions section of our page.
