Our Newest Physical Therapy Services

Blood Flow Restriction Therapy

Indeed, blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy has been gaining traction in the fields of sports medicine and rehabilitation. It's a promising technique that allows for muscle growth and strength gains while using significantly lighter weights, reducing the stress on joints and tendons.

The concept behind BFR involves applying a pressure cuff or band to a specific limb during exercise, partially restricting blood flow to that area. This creates a condition of metabolic stress in the muscles, leading to the production of various growth factors and hormones that promote muscle repair and growth.

The benefits of BFR are manifold. Not only does it enhance muscle strength and hypertrophy, but it also improves cardiovascular fitness and accelerates recovery after exercise. Moreover, because it allows for significant physiological adaptations with lower intensity exercises, it minimizes the risk of injury, particularly in individuals recovering from surgeries or those with joint issues.

As an innovative approach to strength training and rehabilitation, BFR is becoming more popular among athletes and patients alike. However, as with any exercise regimen, it is crucial to perform BFR under the guidance of a trained professional to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a cutting-edge technique in physical therapy that has been gaining significant attention for its efficacy and versatility. This innovative approach involves the use of specialized instruments to perform manual therapy, helping to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and enhance the healing process.

The science behind IASTM lies in its ability to identify and treat areas of soft tissue dysfunction. By utilizing tools with distinct shapes and edges, therapists can precisely target and break down scar tissue and adhesions, promoting optimal tissue structure and function.

IASTM offers a multitude of benefits. It not only contributes to improved range of motion and decreased pain but also accelerates recovery by enhancing blood flow and stimulating cellular activity in the treated area. Furthermore, because the instruments allow for targeted, localized treatment, it can be particularly effective for patients who have not responded to traditional manual therapy techniques.

As with any therapeutic intervention, it's crucial that IASTM is performed by a trained professional to ensure safety and effectiveness. With its unique advantages and growing body of supporting research, IASTM is becoming a valuable asset in the toolkit at our Bellevue physical therapy clinic.

Functional Movement Screening (FMS)

FMS is a comprehensive functional evaluation system designed to identify potential limitations and improve movement patterns. At HIDEF Bellevue, we utilize this update to evaluate our patients' movement ability and provide training strategies to optimize their performance. By identifying the root cause of any movement limitations, we can tailor individual physical therapy programs resulting in more effective rehabilitation, injury prevention, and improved athletic performance.

We believe that our Bellevue physical therapist office is now the now clinic in the area for treating acute injuries, sports injuries, and post operative rehab. We will continue to train and educate our staff in order to continue to elevate the level of care we provide as well as to elevate the field of physical therapy. If you are in need of physical therapy, reach out to us on our website or via text or email.
